ERV
An ERV (Energy Recovery Ventilator) is a balanced mechanical ventilation system that exhausts stale indoor air and brings in fresh outdoor air through an enthalpy core that recovers both sensible heat and moisture. ERVs are preferred in mixed and humid climates because they limit how much summer humidity comes in with fresh air, and they hold onto winter humidity instead of drying out the indoor space. ERVs are the standard pick for IECC zones 1A through 6A.
